The objective of the conference
The objective of the conference is the presentation of scientific studies, examples of practice and suggestions of strategies to overcome obstacles faced by members of the minority population concerning multicultural issues, and to compare the current solutions undertaken by the Czech Republic with other EU countries.

The structure of the conference enables meetings, discussions and multicultural dialogue, along with connecting activities in the academic and non-academic spheres and fostering actual contact and practice with adressing cultural minorities.

- The festive opening of the conference will include an ethnic cultural program
- Discussion sessions
- The offer of an excursion into socially-excluded localities guided by social workers with field experience
- An organized social meeting of the conference participants, part of which includes a musical program with performances by the various ethnic minorities represented.

- Higher education aspects of multiculturality and minorities
- Interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches regarding the problems faced by minorities (social, sociological, psychological, political and any other relevant aspects)
The supervised program of the second day
The supervised program of the second day of the conference will consist of a photogallery surveying the minority populations within the Czech Republic but also in other nations, and a gallery of academic literature, material and other projects relevant to the given theme.

Expecting participation
At the conference we are expecting the participation of both international and local specialists from the fields of science and acade mia. With regards to the fact that the themes are inter- and multi-disciplinary, the conference is open to a wide variety of professionals from varous branches of academia: philosophy, higher education, psychology, sociology, social and cultural anthropology, social geography, social work, the news, political science, law, etc.
